United Kingdom

Of the over 3 million children at risk of food insecurity in the UK, only 1.3 million children benefit from Free School Meals. Over 1.7 million children from low-income families are still at a serious risk of hunger and malnutrition, especially during the pandemic when incomes have reduced for a lot of families. Malnutrition among children causes damage to their over-all development and ability to cope at schools, besides increasing the social inequality amongst the children.

The Nourish to Flourish project by TAPF UK serves hot, freshly prepared vegetarian meals to children in food poverty. Using efficient kitchen technology, we are able to feed a healthy meal to a child for a donation of just £1.25, without compromising on nutrition or hygiene. We’ve been chosen by the BBC as the Global Food Champion of 2019. Having served over 100,000 hot meals to children since 2019, we are now ready to serve even more children in 2021.

  • ''The kids loved your noodles, the cheesy pasta went down really well. And the paneer curry.. they came for second helpings!'' (Summer 2019)

    — Jeanette Boniface, KAPS Holiday Club, Croydon

  • Children came to the club with high sugar food which impacted how they behaved all day. Partnering with TAPF has made sure all our children are well-fed with hot healthy meals every day. Has made a massive difference to our children and parents who don't need to worry about food for their children.

    — Ishmail, Coach, Burgess Sports Club

  • ''When kids come here from homes, they have either not eaten or eaten much. They get here and get them these hot meals from TAPF. The nutrition is massive rather than food from stores. They are doing a good job now.. You see trends, the way children react .. and come back asking for more food.''

    — Thomas Scanell, Simply Kids Holiday Clubs

  • "In this kind of London weather, I appreciate a hot, healthy meal."

    — George, Year 7, Holiday Club Attendee in Half Moon Theatre Club, London
