Covid-19 has affected everyone, most especially young carers and hospital patients who have faced increased isolation and deteriorating wellbeing all without school support. These young people deserve a bright future; help us build confidence, skills, and resilience to make this possible.

    Situation

Young people have been disproportionately affected by Covid-19 suffering increased isolation, deteriorating mental wellbeing and academic attainment without school support. For our young carers and hospital patients from majority low income BAME families the past 12 months have only exacerbated these issues: from increased caring responsibilities to anxiety over health. The ramifications on young people's wellbeing, resilience and confidence will be long-lasting if we don't continue our support.

    Solution

We provide weekly breathwork sessions and a homework drop-in where young people (CYP) can focus on wellbeing and academic achievement. CYP have access to 1-on-1 and mentoring sessions with staff and corporate volunteers, providing the critical emotional care necessary to rebuilding their confidence. Our twice-weekly inspirational talks and creative workshops provide an opportunity for peer support, empowering CYP to talk and walk through their daily challenges together, building their resilience
