    Situation

There are many children and young people (CYP) struggling with a wide range of needs, including being in crisis due to parental conflict, family bereavement, a serious physical or mental health issue within the family, being bullied or bullying, and the complex blend of problems that occur due to long-term poverty, housing or other social issues. Within the context of covid-19, and the increasing pressure on children, parents, schools and teachers our service is needed now more than ever.

    Solution

We support schools and CAMHS by providing a mental health service that helps 1,500 vulnerable children per year. UP therapies give CYP a regular time, space, and consistent adult who use children’s natural language of play and creativity to provide nurturing, and healing experiences. The therapeutic relationship allows CYP who may feel out of control to make choices for themselves, to increase their awareness of the consequences of their actions and develop emotional intelligence and resilience.
