    Situation

Jordan has a rapidly expanding population - expected to double by 2047. Its young population has placed strain on its limited resources, notably the education system, resulting in the most vulnerable missing out - refugees and people with disabilities. In Jordan, the school system is unequipped to include and educate students with disabilities, forcing many to stay out of school. We believe all children have a right to a safe and inclusive childhood and education, in Jordan and across the world

    Solution

Mercy Corps is working to ensure that children who have already faced unimaginable challenges have a second chance at gaining an education, a sense of belonging and opportunities for the future. We provide training to educators and teachers, build awareness around disabilities, and provide customised support like equipment and rehabilitation, so that vulnerable students can have a childhood like any other.
