VETERANS WITH DOGS was founded for the purpose of training fully accredited assistance dogs to help mitigate the symptoms of mental health difficulties for our Veterans and active-duty service members. We produce exceptional assistance dog partnerships for mental health through our comprehensive training programme PALS. Veterans who qualify through our programme have partnerships that they can depend on to help them recognise earlier the increasing symptoms of their difficulties.

Assistance dogs are dogs that are specifically trained to aid or assist an individual suffering with a particular disability. It is commonly recognised and accepted, a Veteran suffering from a condition like PTSD often becomes extremely isolated – and their life can be dominated by conditions such as anxiety and depression. Introducing a specially trained assistance dog into the life of a Veteran who is suffering from PTSD has been shown to have hugely beneficial outcomes.
