Race on the Agenda (ROTA) is one of Britain's leading social policy think-tanks focusing on issues that affect Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities. ROTA aims to increase the capacity of BAME organisations and strengthen the voice of BAME communities.

Situation
ROTA campaigns to overcome institutional racism which affects all public services and virtually every aspect of life in the UK. We train and support marginalised BAME groups to get their voices heard by policy and decision makers. Like many other voluntary organisations, ROTA relies on both project based and unrestricted funding in order to sustain its existence and its work to support BAME communities.
Solution
ROTA has an established network of members (individuals and organisations) and works closely with other race equality organisations to ensure that all areas where there are racial disparities are addressed. We have effective links with local and national government and other public services where we are able to represent the views of BAME communities. ROTA seeks to increase its unrestricted income by donations that will support the work where project funding is not available.
