Every young person should be able to thrive, no matter their background or challenges. LTSB supports young people facing disadvantage to succeed in professional careers, empowering them with skills and confidence through bespoke training and personal support, and placing them with top employers.

Situation
Whether persistent poverty, mental health issues or even homelessness, the young people we work with face unfair barriers to fulfilling their potential. They are less likely to finish school with qualifications or pursue education after the age of sixteen and more likely to work in jobs with lower pay. The barriers are compounded by gender and ethnic group, leading to ‘double disadvantage’ and exacerbated by Covid-19. We face a surge in youth unemployment and inequality if we do not act now.
Solution
LTSB targets young people facing disadvantage and deprivation. Our bespoke training programme empowers them with the personal and professional skills they need for the corporate and professional world. We then help them secure living-wage apprenticeships with our fantastic employer network, supporting them and their employers for the first 12 months of a living-wage apprenticeship. We help change the systems that perpetuate inequality, working with employers to harness the power of diversity
