  • This opportunity means so much to me. To us young people. It’s unreal to think of how far we have come and what the future looks like.

    — Agnes Thiong’o - Young Leader

  • Not every young person has the same beginning in life. Without additional support to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence, many bright and motivated young people can find themselves trapped in underemployment. LTSB is that support, and that’s why we are so important.

    — Danya Defraytus - Career Development Manager

  • I’m so thankful! This charity really does help people, and I can’t put it into words how amazing it is. What LTSB does is genuinely life changing and inspiring. I’m so happy I joined!

    — Alexis - Young Leader (not real name)

  • It was an amazing experience and so supportive having the LTSB team there, and it has honestly helped me improve my employability skills. I would 100% recommend this programme as it has built such an amazing for life support network!

    — Justina Blair - Young Leader

Whether persistent poverty, mental health issues or even homelessness, the young people we work with face unfair barriers to fulfilling their potential. They are less likely to finish school with qualifications or pursue education after the age of sixteen and more likely to work in jobs with lower pay. The barriers are compounded by gender and ethnic group, leading to ‘double disadvantage’ and exacerbated by Covid-19. We face a surge in youth unemployment and inequality if we do not act now.

LTSB targets young people facing disadvantage and deprivation. Our bespoke training programme empowers them with the personal and professional skills they need for the corporate and professional world. We then help them secure living-wage apprenticeships with our fantastic employer network, supporting them and their employers for the first 12 months of a living-wage apprenticeship. We help change the systems that perpetuate inequality, working with employers to harness the power of diversity
