‘Trail’ hunting is a cover for illegal hunting, and hunt members throughout the UK are still breaking the law by hunting wild mammals with dogs. They are also using artificial earths to raise foxes, interfering with badger setts and flushing foxes to hounds with terriers. If we can identify them on film, it’s far more likely it will lead to a successful prosecution. We can ensure criminals get the punishment they deserve.
Solution
By using drones to monitor hunts from a distance and using smaller more covert cameras, we can protect both our professional investigators and their precious footage. By filming the hunt in its entirety, it’s also easier to show the full picture and give a clear account of suspected illegal activity. We can show how and where. This will enable the Crown Prosecution Service to have all the available evidence to ensure those committing animal cruelty acts are punished.
