    Situation

We provide supported housing to destitute asylum seekers, who after being refused asylum become destitute with no access to housing and also being unable to work legally in the UK. Our work focuses on gathering new evidence to help them reapply for asylum, or human rights claims in the UK. We also work with newly recognised refugees, who are made homeless after gaining leave to remain. We support residents to apply for welfare benefits, open bank accounts and access education/employment.

    Solution

By supporting our work, we can continue to provide supported housing, enable all residents to achieve the outcomes regarding their asylum claims and enable them to move onto independent housing, developing the life skills to be able to manage a tenancy independently, such as budgeting or regaining asylum seekers housing following the submission of a fresh asylum claim. To enable us to meet residents needs, we need finances to be able to pay for utilities, council tax, water rates & maintenance
