    Situation

1 in 5 people in the UK has a communication difficulty, leading to isolation, mental health difficulties, health inequalities, unemployment and more. As an 'invisible' disability, there is limited support available. However, as we can improve physical access by building a ramp; we can build ramps for people with communication needs by adapting our own communication, helping people to understand and express themselves, and enabling access to the services and opportunities we all take for granted.

    Solution

The Include Choir brings people with and without communication needs together, breaking down barriers and reducing stigma and isolation. We provide social and musical opportunities which improve wellbeing and we empower people with communication needs, giving them a voice and platform. We teach evidence-based inclusive communication skills to health and care staff, businesses and the local community - through fun, music, and engagement with the people who are the experts in communication needs.
