Truthfully speaking, I wouldn't have come this far without United Social Venture's support.
This was really a life changing course because... I have all it takes to make a positive impact in my society and nation.
It has been a very educative experience that has changed my life tremendously. With USV around, I personally will be a big entrepreneur very soon!
Uganda is consistently rated as one of the youngest and most entrepreneurial countries in the world. Almost 30% of adults are engaged in the early stages of setting up and running an enterprise (GEM, 2015). And, half of all Ugandan adults are under 30 (UBOS, 2019). But this entrepreneurship is enforced, unsupported, and consequently rarely creates systemic change. 21% of these go out of business every year, 89% have never accessed entrepreneurship promotion and support programs (GEM, 2013).
USV trains and coaches young Ugandan social entrepreneurs at the very start of their journeys to design and implement innovative and impactful social ventures. Our high-quality, cost-effective workforce of coaches equipped with a tailored experiential learning curriculum - based upon global best-practice methodologies such as human centered design and lean start-up. Our ongoing support also gives entrepreneurs the emotional validation to persist through, and learn from, challenges.
