This campaign has now closed
Please help lockdown’s missing head and neck cancer patients receive a swift diagnosis and treatment. Lockdown meant 350,000 fewer people were referred to a cancer specialist between April and August, a drop of 70%. Survival is hugely improved by a speedy diagnosis and prompt, expert treatment.

Situation
Thousands of people didn’t seek help for worrying symptoms during the first lockdown. Oracle Cancer Trust is worried thousands of people should be in treatment for head and neck cancer now but have not been diagnosed. More people beat head and neck cancer because of early diagnosis and improved treatments. But people need to see their Dr and receive prompt chemo, radiotherapy or surgery. This Christmas, help us find the missing cancer patients and ensure they receive the best treatment possible.
Solution
Much medical research paused during lockdown, but Oracle researchers are now back up and running with social distancing in labs. We will run a campaign to raise awareness of the subtle symptoms of head and neck cancer in order to find the missing cancer patients. We will encourage people to seek medical advice asap, no matter the restrictions in place. We will fund research to improve treatments for people who may have more advanced cancer due to a delayed diagnosis.
