HEART UK is the UK’s only charity that focuses on cholesterol (including Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH)) an issue that affects more than 50% of adults in the UK and puts them at risk of heart attacks, strokes and vascular dementia. Raised cholesterol is the most common risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD), which causes nearly one third of all deaths in the UK on average, one person dies every three minutes from CVD. More than 7 million people are living with CVD in the UK.

HEART UK Helpline: To properly manage cholesterol and the risk associated, people need to have access to specific, accurate and user friendly information. Thousands of people across the UK currently do not understand the risk they face or what they could do to tackle it. Accessing information and advice can be difficult. The HEART UK Cholesterol Helpline provides much needed advice and support ensuring people across the UK can access dedicated and specially qualified advice tailored to them.

  • I e-mailed the helpline as my cholesterol test result was not that straight forward and I wanted to get some expert advice to help me understand and take control of my cholesterol. Tina rang me back. Tina helped me gain the confidence to take responsibility for my own health.
