The appeal has 3 aims. To raise £2500 to fund a food programme which provides all 350 children with a hot nutritious meal every day. Secondly, to cover the costs of employing 3 local teachers at the school (each teacher costs about £2500pa). Thirdly, to expand the supporter base of this amazing school.

    Situation

Nayamba School in Zambia provides a free education to children who would otherwise not receive any education. The school educates over 350 children from pre-school to the end of grade 9 (approx UK GCSE level). Predominantly, the children are children of farm workers with about 50% coming from the local forest which are the very poorest in Zambian society. Zambia itself is one of the most deprived countries in the world. A food programme ensures all children receive one nutritious meal a day.

    Solution

The long term solution to third world poverty is through education to equip the local population with the means of their own salvation. The Nayamba Trust works with one of the poorest communities on earth to provide high quality education to those who would otherwise receive none. Having expanded the school enormously in recent years, 2020 will see the opening of the new Trade School to provide vital skills to young adults and equip them with the business skills to be successful in life.
