Situation
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the way how we support homeless people in London. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been working hard to support the most vulnerable homeless people who have been sleeping rough on the streets of London to ensure they have a safe place to stay. This momentous effort, the biggest in a decade can’t go to waste. We want to ensure that no-one will come back on the streets this winter.
Solution
SHP works to provide a long term solution rather than a quick fix for people who experience homelessness. We work with people to address the underlying causes of homelessness, such as mental-ill health, family breakdown, offending or drug and alcohol dependency. The funding will enable us to provide specialist support, including access to psychotherapy and education, training and employment opportunities, required to move away from homelessness for good.
