To help enable our Hospice to provide high quality, free care for adults and children in our area who have a wide range of progressive life-limiting conditions. Our care is available to patients, families and carers in a range of settings. We also offer practical, emotional wellbeing support.

    Situation

The Hospice employs about 150 staff so we can provide 24/7 care. It currently costs £5.5-million a year to run the hospice, and only 18% is funded by the Government; so we rely on the generosity of the public to fund the rest. With the restrictions of the pandemic we've been unable to run many of our fundraising events, and have had to close our shops and cafe which help to keep our hospice running to its high standard, and allow us to connect with our community.

    Solution

We have begun adopting virtual fundraising/communication techniques etc, such as this campaign, as well as hybrid ones as things begin to open up. We've kept in regular contact with our supporters through our strong social media channels throughout and will continue to do so. Furthermore, we're in the process of reviewing our wellbeing services to ensure all all that use it are reached. We take the wellbeing of our community very seriously and are constantly assessing how we adapt at this time.
