  • That was really fantastic, this was the first time the kids have ever been to the cinema.

Every family needs a little help from time to time. But some face challenges so severe that the safety, happiness and health of their children are in jeopardy. Since the outbreak of coronavirus our support has never been needed more. This year more than 38,000 children in Scotland will suffer abuse and 1 in 4 (260,000) live in poverty. Families are living with increasing stress caused by poverty, poor mental health, alcohol or drug misuse, loss or conflict - and often a combination of them.

We give hands-on support to families under stress and in crisis across many of Scotland’s communities. There’s no ‘one-size-fits all’. Our joint up approach across our Parentline online and phone service, children and family services and Women 1st group ensures that both children, parents and families work together to find a solution as well as 1-2-1 support tailored to their age, circumstances and wishes.
