Situation
In 2020 many young people were put at risk: school closures and the loss of part-time jobs or work experience have exacerbated existing inequalities and challenges – everything from food insecurity to poor mental health. Many are left vulnerable and anxious. Young people’s resilience, enterprise, and insights must be a vital part of building a better post-pandemic world. But first they need the right support to help themselves, and we all need the opportunities to hear their views and experiences.
Solution
Power2 supports young people who are disengaged and disadvantaged. Through Teens & Toddlers they gain interpersonal skills, self-esteem and a national qualification. Power2 Rediscover, our new crisis response programme, offers intensive 1:1 support. Graduates become Young Leaders, access 3 years of unique opportunities, drive positive change and are supported to have their voices heard. Our long-term support is not only life changing, it is also developing the next generation of leaders.
