We work with children and young people, aged 15-23, who have survived or are at risk of trafficking and exploitation. By providing peer groups, education, fun and healing activities, and advocacy and campaigning for their rights, we support these young people to flourish, and to have stable futures.

    Situation

Child trafficking in the UK is growing. It is estimated that 5.5 million children are trafficked worldwide each year and in 2019 over 5,000 human trafficking offences were recorded in the UK. These children are exceptionally vulnerable because of the nature of exploitation and the uncertainty of their status in the UK. Even after being identified as a victim of trafficking, they receive no specialist care, often having to face complex legal systems without the support of a parent or guardian.

    Solution

We run a Youth Programme for children and young people who have experienced trafficking and exploitation. Through this programme we deliver weekly youth groups which offer education, life skills workshops and healing activities. We provide informal advocacy, to help them overcome their experiences and live independently as adults. Through the programme, young people are also able to become involved in our work, direct projects and become advocates for others who are victims of trafficking.
