    Situation

There are over 90,000 people living with dementia in Scotland and this number is set is to double within a generation as our population grows and people live longer. While most view the festive season as a welcome break, for many people living with dementia this time can be confusing and stressful. Cold weather, dark nights, disrupted routines and less access to public services can be overwhelming. We need your support to ensure nobody is left feeling isolated and alone.

    Solution

Alzheimer Scotland’s Freephone Dementia Helpline is staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, who offer information and emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - even on Christmas Day. This support, which is the only 24 hour Dementia Helpline in the UK, is a lifeline for people with dementia, carers and families who are struggling with the challenges a dementia diagnosis can bring and is wholly reliant on donations to remain open.
