Since 1917 we have been supporting local families overcome challenges in their lives, and helping children reach their potential. Help us to continue providing free specialist therapy and counselling services for vulnerable children, young people and families in West London in these difficult times.

    Situation

Mental health issues affect 1 in 8 (12.8%) of 5-19 year olds, with emotional disorders including anxiety and depression, the most prevalent. Despite this, only 1 in 4 young people with a mental disorder access specialist mental health services. Research shows inequality underlies many of the risk factors for mental health problems in children and young people, with children from low-income families 4 times more likely to experience mental health problems than children from higher income families

    Solution

Our work attempts to address some of the local shortfall in early years and youth support services for local vulnerable children by providing free 1:1 specialist therapy and counselling for children and families, as well as school-based groups for children aged 4-11. Last year we supported over 600 local families with mental wellbeing, increasing confidence and emotional resilience to help them cope with the ordinary and extraordinary challenges of everyday life.
