‘I was scared before to go out and speak with anyone, but now I feel so nice to be around and open up with RRSG community. I love all staff here’
'At the weekend I was really low and I did not think I would be able to do anything this week. Now after being here and talking with everyone, I feel like I can take on the world'
We have spent 25 years helping Refugees from over 50 countries who have escaped war, persecution and modern slavery. Many have been victims of human trafficking, some have No Recourse to Public Funds. Having experienced unimaginable physical and psychological trauma, and a long, horrific journey to the UK, Refugees in Berkshire are forced to face poverty, exploitation, severe mental health issues, the language barrier, racism and the 'hostile environment'.
We offer a safe space and social activities, so Refugees can make friends and rebuild trust. We offer legal advice and practical help with housing, benefits, legal status and more. We run English classes, Homework Clubs for schoolkids and help Refugees access education and find work. We run a Refugee Football team, Sanctuary Strikers FC. We help Refugees rebuild their lives in Berkshire, get back on their feet and achieve their potential.
