The Coronavirus has had a huge economic impact in Nepal. Pressure on families has resulted in increased numbers of children being trafficked from rural villages to Kathmandu. We want to rescue these children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families. Please help us to do this.

    Situation

Human trafficking, particularly of women and children, is an ongoing problem in Nepal. Reports suggest that up to 15,000 people are trafficked annually, both within Nepal and to other countries. Trafficked children are compelled to work in brick kilns, factories, restaurants, hotels, used for commercial sexual exploitation or forced into early marriages. We estimate that there are over 100,000 children trapped in dangerous situations in Nepal, away from their families and out of education.

    Solution

We conduct covert observations to locate where children are working as slaves. We then co-ordinate with local police to conduct rescue operations where we physically remove children from dangerous situations. Children are taken to our safe house where they receive medical care and counselling. We then trace the families and support the child to go home where we will continue to monitor their progress. If this is not possible or safe we will care for child in one of one our family-style homes.
