Situation

Our service users come with personal difficulties and grief in the area of baby loss or unintended pregnancy. They may identify with a feeling of being completely stuck, having lost hope of being themselves again. Their emotional distress may be recent or may have been carried for some time, affecting not only themselves but their relationships and family life. There is strong demand for our services and a waiting list of around 2 to 3 months which we would love to bring down.

Solution

The specialist counselling programmes we offer explore our clients needs as individuals in a safe and confidential environment. We work to build skills and understanding which enable our clients to move forward over time, both personally and in work and family situations. We can explore a variety of potential needs such as for increased self-worth, to lower anxiety, regain social inclusion and skills, improve mental health and the ability to cope with life.

  • I am incredibly grateful for this service and realise just how much I needed the help and support

    — Former client

  • Here I learnt that I am not alone. Firgrove has become a safe place for me. I am now beginning to see my future and know it will be OK.

    — Former client

  • I guess I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing a very much needed service and place to talk openly and without judgement.
