    Situation

Our 2019 member survey showed that 73% of respondents said that MSA had a severe impact on their quality of life, a lot of which can be attributed to what an MSA diagnosis does to a person's speech. Speech is heavily hampered quite early on in MSA, and they cannot express themselves or communicate with loved ones. Members feel socially isolated, completely dependent on their carer, and trapped in a body that is slowly shutting down, despite the fact that their intellect is not affected in any way

    Solution

We will offer our members the opportunity to capture the essence of their voice before they lose it, creating a digital copy of their voice – known as voice banking. The technology gives members the possibility to continue speaking and communicating, by using speech synthesis and their own voice – including the timbre, accent and intonation. It only takes around 30 minutes for members to record a set list of phrases, the voice banking technology then ensure they can communicate when required
