This project aims to build teacher capacity in Cambodia through the use of educational technology and digital resources. Teachers will be given access to a wide variety of resources via a learning management system and a tablet. This will help to transform their teaching and improve student learning

    Situation

Rural Cambodian primary schools are not well resourced. Schools have subject textbooks provided by the Ministry of Education, but other resources are only available if they are provided by NGOs like SeeBeyondBorders. Teachers often have to share resources and the quality quickly deteriorates because Cambodian classrooms are dusty, dirty and lack adequate storage facilities. We have seen some story books with corners chewed by rats and others with pages missing!

    Solution

SeeBeyondBorders will provide access to teaching resources online so that teachers can choose which resources to use and when, without having to worry about sharing them. We will provide each teacher with a tablet and the means to project an image onto the classroom wall, making the system as user-friendly as possible. Resources will be regularly refreshed, providing teachers with a repository to use every day. We will provide training to explain the system and support teachers to use it.
