Liver disease is known as the ‘silent killer’ due to the symptoms being difficult to spot in the early stages, and due to lack of knowledge and awareness by the general public and in primary care. 75% of patients are diagnosed late when the damage has progressed and their treatment options are severely reduced. Patients and families need to be able to access trusted help and support urgently so that they can be informed about their condition and know how best to manage their illness.

The charity provides trusted information and support for liver patients and families; we run the only liver-nurse led helpline in the UK. We support all liver conditions, including liver cancer, hepatitis and cirrhosis, patients waiting for transplant and post-transplant. Especially vital during and after the pandemic as transplants are delayed. Patients can access our 24/7 online forum and virtual support groups, as well as speaking to an experienced liver nurse on our helpline.
