    Situation

67% of our members are Westminster residents, 63% live in social housing. With many from homes on tight family budgets access to this dedicated outward-bound week may not otherwise be affordable. Beyond us, there are very limited enrichment opportunities for these young people that enable them to develop educationally, socially & personally, or for them to visit/stay outside of their local area. Our residential programme has not run for 8 years, despite members often asking in surveys.

    Solution

Residentials are a great way to enrich our members' lives. The activities build physical/mental skills, confidence & team work; being away fosters independence/broadens horizons. We want to reintroduce residentials & have researched the best option. As London Youth members, we get a discount rate & 1 free staff member per 10 young people. Hindleap Warren has availability for Easter 2021. If successful, we'll market the trip @£20/head with £10/head family discount, and secure parental consent.
