    Situation

We are in the midst of a global recession. As a result of the Coronavirus crisis, many face hunger and the human cost is rising. The world’s poorest and most vulnerable are the worst affected. Millions have lost jobs or are working under tougher conditions with fewer rights. Trade restrictions mean many farmers and artisans cannot sell their produce. People struggle to feed their families and decades of progress are under threat as labour laws which once protected workers are being eroded.

    Solution

We help the most vulnerable by providing food, soap and face masks. We help them rebuild their livelihoods and adapt to a challenging world by creating producer groups with a unified voice, and by providing training to boost businesses. We campaign to address injustices by asking brands to pay their suppliers so that factories can remain open and keep workers employed. We challenge the relaxation of labour laws which could see workers making longer hours, for less pay, in worse conditions.
