Transforming the Lives of Vulnerable Families

While adopted children gain a stable & loving family, past trauma means they are among the most vulnerable children in society. Help us to be there for Adoptive families who need extra support. We want to be there to offer a lifeline, show them we care & that they are not alone.

  • "Adoption UK is a life line for me. As single adopter with 2 children with attachment difficulties and Special Educational Needs, I have felt isolated and discriminated against, and not taken seriously when trying to get support for my kids.”

    — Anon

  • "The help we received gave us the confidence to change schools. She's much happier and our life has changed so much for the better. Adoption UK made us realise we were not rubbish at parenting and it was worth fighting for the support our daughter deserves."

    — Anon

  • "Thank you me & my son totally love these sessions (AUK Webinars). Being at home means no anxiety around travel, new people, new places. therapist not in room means he looks to me more not them. Today he drew me as his safe person - this is massive for us 4 yrs in"

    — Anon

  • Thank you for all you do to raise awareness and support for adoptive families. It makes a massive difference to the chances our children have and the support our families receive.

Three quarters of the children adopted today have been removed from their birth families due to abuse or neglect. Adoption alone doesn’t erase the trauma they have suffered, and they find relationships and everyday life incredibly difficult. Adoptive families face daily battles to get the longer-term support and specialist help they need. Since Covid-19 struck, many families have told us they are under even more pressure, feeling increased isolation and are heading towards breaking point.

Our advice and support services are a lifeline for struggling adoptive families. They provide the empathy, connection and vital guidance that help make family life manageable and happier again. With your donations we will be able to respond to more calls from families in crisis, reach out to those struggling and in need, connect them to other adopters who can help them put the steps in place for a brighter future.
