Global Collective 2021 is a 10-day intensive summer programme that combines performing arts with digital media. Young people will work with professional artists to create an original performance and develop personal, creative, technical and performance skills.

Situation
Young people currently have limited access to the arts due to the decreased provision in schools and changes to the national curriculum. In addition, subsidised local authority arts activity has been reduced due to government cuts and there will be even less available after the COVID-19 crisis. Many of these young people have no access to private music or dance tuition because of their poor economic means, meaning that they do not have the opportunity to recognise and develop their talents.
Solution
‘Global Collective’ is a 10-day summer programme involving a variety of workshops and activities culminating in a newly created performance piece. This will enable children and young people to be involved in a high quality, future-focused, performance and digital arts programme. There will be participation fees, but we have budgeted for a high percentage of half or full bursaries if financial situation would prevent a child from attending.
