    Situation

When you are a single parent family, Christmas is often a time of stress, not celebration. Nearly half of single parent families live in poverty. Children know their parent can’t afford the presents their friends look forward to and struggle to put extra food on the table. This year, money is tighter than ever as Covid-19 hit single parents hard. Their flexible, part-time jobs were amongst the first to go leaving single parent families more vulnerable than ever.

    Solution

Whatever success looks like to a single parent our mission is to work to make it happen. This includes expert information, through our free helpline and website, providing the tools needed to manage financial and practical difficulties. Our peer support services connect single parent families through local groups and our online forum, which will be moderated over Christmas. Our campaigns strive to create a fairer system, giving single parents and their children the chance to thrive.
