Homeless people face many barriers in rejoining society. For rough sleepers, staying warm, clean and fed is a daily struggle. Rough sleepers cannot easily access these essential resources. The formerly homeless people who come to live in the Emmaus Oxford community also need help to buy basic items. Many people who come to us need to buy clothes and shoes, toiletries and to pay for travel costs.

Emmaus Oxford will address this problem in two key ways: We are trying to bridge the gap between people who are street homeless or vulnerably-housed and the rest of society. We want to help the formerly homeless people who live and work at Emmaus Oxford to buy essential items for themselves and we want to help them to reach out to people who are currently rough sleeping to offer warm clothing, food and support.
