    Situation

Many children living in poverty in London have spent weeks living in cramped, unsuitable accommodation without access to education, healthy food and having to endure emotional and physical distress caused by the pandemic. Disadvantaged children will need extra support and care following the easement of public restrictions. While London moves on, 700,000 children will still be held back by poverty and this campaign will ensure that they can receive the support they need to recover from this crisis.

    Solution

The Champions for Children campaign will match funding 94 charities to deliver a wide range of support for children and young people living in poverty in London. This support will help children to recover from the toxic stress, worry and anxiety that many disadvantaged children have experienced during the Coronavirus crisis.
