Storms, floods & drought caused by the climate crisis are threatening our coastal wildlife. The space for wildlife to eat, sleep and breed is shrinking. This project will create more, bigger and better homes for nature establishing a resilient coastal environment and we need your help.

Situation
The storms & droughts associated with the climate crisis are having significant effects for habitat on & close to our coast. Precious quiet shingle beaches & harbour islands, vital for nesting & wintering birds are being destroyed &, close by, freshwater lakes, reedbeds and marshy meadows, which provide specialist places for many species are also effected. This squeezes wildlife into smaller spaces, resulting in less area to eat, sleep and breed. Consequently, populations are declining.
Solution
Through employing specialist contractors, we can restore some of the most important areas being effected by the climate crisis, through recharging shingle beaches & creating protective measures to reduce future damage. Fresh water features will be created in low lying areas close to the shore which will hold water for longer during summer droughts & repair areas damaged through seawater reaching some areas during storms. This will create vital & more resilient homes for nature for many species.
