Medical Aid Films uses innovative media to transform the health and wellbeing of women and children around the world. We are raising funds to translate our life-saving films into a wider range of local languages and disseminate them to health workers and communities in low-income countries.

Situation
830 women die every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth – more than one life lost every two minutes. Almost all of these maternal deaths – 99% - happen in developing countries and many could have been prevented with access to high quality, skilled healthcare. However, access to care is not always available due to a global shortage of trained health workers and a lack of accessible education and training resources for speakers of local and marginalised languages.
Solution
Medical Aid Films produces context-specific, resource-appropriate, educational films to upskill health workers in low-income countries and ensure that women across the world can access the care they need during pregnancy, childbirth and throughout their lives. We have a library of 330 films, with translations in 28 languages. We urgently need support to translate our content into more local languages and disseminate this life-saving information to communities underserved by existing resources.
