Situation
Each year over 85 people will be killed on the roads of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire leaving behind a trail of devastation and despair. Nationally there is very little support available that addresses the emotional and practical needs of the bereaved families. The Road Victims Trust provides unconditional support to all persons affected by the trauma of a fatal and life-changing collision.
Solution
The Road Victims Trust will deliver an unconditional Counselling service to all persons affected by these collisions across the 3 counties. This support will be in place for as long as is needed. A cohort of local Counselling Volunteers, supported by a small team of staff, will be deployed to those in need after having been referred to the Road Victims Trust by Police.
