Our mission is to unlock opportunity for Kenya’s poorest residents, by ensuring everyone has clean water, safe toilets & good hygiene forever. Reducing time lost to water collection and preventable disease removes barriers to learning and earning, allowing people to lift themselves out of poverty.

    Situation

Where we work in Kenya, 8 out of 10 people lack access to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene. Most residents live in rural communities and spend hours each day walking to collect dirty water or find a safe place to relieve themselves. Dirty water and poor hygiene spread diseases meaning even more time is lost to sickness that could have been used to learn and earn. For children, this can mean the difference between dropping out of primary school and completing their education.

    Solution

With the support of incredible people like you, we are removing these barriers and giving people the opportunity to improve their own lives. This starts with Dig Deep working with partners to install taps and toilets whilst ensuring that everyone has the knowledge they need to be free of disease. Installing taps and toilets is essential to our work but we don’t do piecemeal projects - we’re working with government and business to set up services and build self-sustaining systems.
