    Situation

A diagnosis of childhood cancer has a devastating impact on the emotional and physical health and well-being of the child. The sudden change of circumstances leaves a child feeling overwhelmed and frightened making it difficult to keep up with regular school and social life. Visible side effects can leave a young cancer patient with low self esteem, and frequent treatments in hospital means being separated from family and friends for long periods of time.

    Solution

Acheinu Cancer Support would like to infuse the lives of young cancer patients with some positive experiences and we therefore want to provide them with a weekly event which will excite them and bring happiness to their lives. Weekly art therapy group sessions lead by a qualified therapist will provide a safe haven for these suffering children who will be able to enjoy and express themselves, forgetting for a while about their challenge lives.
