Glory House in Kathmandu, Nepal is a safe home for the most vulnerable women that WWR supports. We provide good nutrition, fellowship and a clean environment. The home also serves as a base for our relief work to other women located in their own homes across Kathmandu.

    Situation

All the women we support are on their own, many have been abandoned or lost their families due to illness and poverty. They suffer from poor diets, isolation and substandard working conditions. Some women have been rehabilitated from severe mental health problems and so we provide a safe place for them to continue their recoveries. Their children do not always attend school.

    Solution

Our home provides a safe place for up to 12 women, plus their children, to live. Healthy and nutritious food is served to them twice a day. There is a daily routine and the women benefit from a structure to their days. The women living in the home provide friendship and encouragement to each other and our staff are on hand to assist with more complex needs. WWR provides a grant to cover the cost of each's child's education.
