Situation

“Type 1 is forever. It’s life-threatening. It’s every hour of every day. And there is no cure.” Simon’s son has type 1. This is life with type 1 diabetes, a life-changing autoimmune condition that can strike at any age. It means you can no longer produce the insulin you need to live. We’re determined to find a cure. But Covid-19 has hit our fundraising income. Without support now, vital medical research and years of progress are at risk, and new treatments and a cure will be further away.

Solution

We’re the only charity in the world dedicated entirely to preventing, treating and curing this life-changing condition. Our research delivers. It changes lives. With the help of our supporters, we made history this year with the world’s first artificial pancreas app, which mimics a human pancreas. We rely 100% on donations from people like you to fund our ground-breaking research. We get no government funding. Together we can find better treatments and the cure we all so desperately long for.
