This campaign has now closed

LYC is a centre of musical excellence and a beacon of inclusivity, bringing young people together from across London. The current crisis has required us to drastically evolve the delivery of LYC. With funds raised, we can continue to engage and support our members during lockdown and beyond.

    Situation

Since the Covid-19 lockdown, London Youth Choirs (LYC) has had to cancel all its weekly rehearsals, concerts and education experiences for children and young people across London, urgently requiring us to change the way we operate. As champions for musical excellence and social change, we need to maintain the interaction with our members at this time; especially our most vulnerable, who rely on us to support their mental health and self-care.

    Solution

We are creating virtual experiences and resources for our 311 members, plus alumni, many of whom rely on LYC as a provider of positivity and care. By providing regular online activity via a specially created site - LYC Live - we can engage our members with musical and social activities. As well as streaming online rehearsals for each choir, a dedicated ‘Happiness Zone’ has been created. Here members can explore a range of self-care activities and request 1-1 sessions with our pastoral care team.
