My 10 year old daughter is struggling emotionally with the lockdown, and wasn't able to settle to her school work last week, so we decided to do your online tutorials instead. It was a huge boost to her self esteem and we started to see her happy and enthusiastic for the first time in a week.
I've felt so inspired by the plays you have been putting on. It has given us something to focus on during lockdown and we have really enjoyed making our own sock puppets and characters.
We’ve been using these resources to support the teaching of key workers children at our school. They are going to make their own theatres and shows next week. Thank you.
Parents are working incredibly hard to support children at home during this pandemic, often juggling working full times jobs from home and / or dealing with financial hardship as a result of this pandemic. Creative activities have been shown to improve the mental health, well-being and development of children and young people, but parents often lack the confidence or skills to work on creative projects with their children.
Our project will provide structured resources and activity packs for parents, supporting them to engage in creative projects and build confidence. The activities are easy to follow and able to be delivered using items that are low cost and already in the home e.g. cardboard, paper, foil etc. They are "inspired" by creative resources, including storytelling videos and a Puppet Sofa series of performances that can be enjoyed by those of all ages.
