Covid19 affects the whole of humanity. Everyone is concerned about the impact of coronavirus, however the reality is it will be much greater in countries like India, where poor sanitation,overcrowded living conditions, insufficient food & clean water puts orphaned HIV children at huge risk.

Situation
Poor children in India are at great risk of infection from coronavirus, living in overcrowded slums with poor santitation and a lack of clean water, they lack soap and basic awareness of how to protect themselves. Children infected with HIV run a higher risk of being seriously infected. The hand to mouth existence of many families means that the lockdown in India has greatly affected their ability to provide for themselves, with many children going hungry, with not enough food to eat.
Solution
We will provide 550 family food and care packages to the most vulnerable poorest children and those infected with HIV. We will ensure that children and their families have enough food to eat, with a months supply of rice, lentils and oil, as well disposable masks, soap & hand sanitizer, and we will ensure HIV infected children have enough of their medication and access to an ongoing supply. We will raise awareness on social distancing and regular hand washing to help children protect themselves.
