    Situation

One and a half million people in Syria are currently living with permanent impairments, including over 80,000 who have lost limbs. Millions more are grappling with invisible scars on their mental health after enduring unimaginable hardships for the past ten years. Cut off from healthcare, millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey desperately require advanced healthcare services in order to begin to address the toll this war has taken on their physical and mental health.

    Solution

Relief International began working from Turkey in 2013, with a focus on providing medical services across the southern border into Syria. But, as the impact of Syrian crisis expanded to impact the country's neighbors, so have our programs to meet the growing needs of Syrian refugees in Turkey. We support six rehabilitation centers that specialize in providing prosthetics, orthotics, physical therapy, and mental health services for Syrians refugees coping with war-related injuries.
