Yemen has spiraled into catastrophe with famine-like conditions and mass displacement across the country. Relief International is working in Yemen to undo the harmful effects of malnutrition by providing nutritional assistance to children located in fragile pockets across the country.

    Situation

In Yemen, more than two million children are so acutely malnourished that they face permanent impairments, or, in many cases, die. Nearly six years of conflict have pushed the country to the brink of social, economic and institutional collapse, increasing food insecurity across the country. While Yemen is no longer on the brink of famine, hunger still stalks millions of people, with its effects felt strongest by children.

    Solution

We operate on the front lines of the crisis, delivering emergency rations of food, life-saving healthcare, and nutrition programs to those who need it most: children. We do so by: - Using biometric data to deliver food in conflict-affected areas where there is a risk of aid diversion; - Providing cash assistance to families which can be used for food; - Deploying mobile clinics to deliver healthcare services to communities cut off by fighting.
