For two world class MRI scanners - the first scanners of this kind in the UK with groundbreaking technology giving enhanced image quality to radically improve diagnosis, scan times will be reduced and the patient experience improved with a wider opening and much quieter scans.

Situation
We will be improving diagnosis and treatment of thousands of patients who use Stoke Mandeville Hospital (from Bucks, Beds, Herts and Oxon) and Wycombe Hospital (from Bucks and Berks) with advanced scanning techniques provided locally, reducing the number of biopsies and saving certain patients from having to travel out of area for specialist scans.
Solution
By providing funding towards two MRI scanners for Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals - the local NHS Trust would only have been able to provide a basic like for like replacement and are contributing £600,000 towards the project, but the extra funds Scannappeal are providing (£900,000) will mean two of the most advanced scanners in the world can be purchased and will be the first of its kind in the UK.;
