    Situation

Refugee children don't have access to many social/educational activities and rarely go on holiday over the summer. This means they miss out on childhood experiences and have low levels of English. Children we work with live in poverty, overcrowded housing, single parent families. They are underachieving at school and have low confidence and self-esteem.

    Solution

We provide weekly homework & activities club for refugee children and trips during the holidays (15 trips/activities in summer 2019). It means refugee children have access to a range of fun, engaging and sometimes challenging childhood experiences like camping, residentials, sports, cooking, music, drama activities. Due to Coronavirus we will run a mix of online and small groups (if possible). Children improve their learning skills, confidence and English, and also have fun and make new friends.
