    Situation

    Haringey: one of the most unequal boroughs in London and UK; 5th most ethincially diverse, 6th most deprived UK borough; 180+ languages spoken; 7 year life expectancy gap from West to East; higher rates of serious mental illness than London; low GCSE attainment, mainly for black boys; high childhood obesity; 2nd largest % of residents earning below London Living Wage; for young people safety, gun and knife crime are major issues; 16% residents feel isolated, highest for those age 45+.

    Solution

    Haringey Giving is a new partnership of residents, community groups, businesses, City firms, funders and other stakeholders, put in place after 2+ years of community consultation and engagement. ‘Everyone has something to give, and we all can play a part’ We will enable residents and communities to build on their strengths, adding value and harnessing time, talents and resources. We will give grants to enable people to make improvements and take action on the things that matter to them.
