Our award-winning Singing Schools involve every child and every adult in a primary school. We work with schools in poorer areas and benefit children who experience disadvantage. We train teachers so that schools are strengthened. The resulting improved outcomes for children lead to better futures.

    Situation

Research proves that children who engage in high-quality, regular musical learning benefit in a number of ways, including in musical and academic achievement, development of social and physical skills. Primary schools often do not have teaching capacity or specialist knowledge to be able to deliver and fund high quality music in the classroom and school curriculum. Children at these schools have fewer chances to reach their full potential and start life with less opportunity than their peers.

    Solution

Our award-winning Singing Schools programme supports children to leave primary education as musicians in their own right with confidence, knowledge and passion for music and singing. We help teachers and pupils in schools to learn new skills and put them in to practice in their classrooms. We use our specialist knowledge to empower school staff so that there is an impact on the whole school community and the futures of the children.
